There are a number of spider species in Taiwan, some of which are as big as my hand, others as small as my little finger nail. This is a jumping spider I photographed just after it caught a fly.
I will be posting a series of spider shots shortly, including a close up photograph of a golden web spider.

Wow, nice and very interesting photo of a jumping spider. Nice shot, buddy. Hoping for more of these beautiful shots of spiders (especially jumping spiders) in the future.
ReplyDeleteThese jumping spiders are indeed amazing. Aside from the fact that they're diurnal (unlike many other species of spiders which are nocturnal), they possess a lot of characteristics that are indeed amazing! Here's my source, just in case: http://www.jumpingspider.net/
Hello Michael,
ReplyDeleteThank you for the compliments and the link. Very useful as most of the information I get here on species is in Chinese (including my field guide books). There is a lot of interesting wildlife here in Taiwan, especially for macro photography. I'll be posting photos of Golden Orb Spiders soon.
